Michelle Atherley, a Miami (Florida) graduate and professional competitor, won the women's elite heptathlon with a lifetime-best 6,372 points at the 64th Mt. SAC Relays Presented by Nike at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif. Atherley won the 100-meter hurdles in a wind-legal 12.83 seconds, prevailed in the 200 meters in a wind-aided 23.28 seconds, triumphed in the long jump with a wind-legal leap of 20-7.75 (6.29m) and punctuated the schedule by capturing the 800 meters in 2:11.52. Atherley improved from her 6,352-point effort at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials in Oregon.
